April 12tH. QUILTERS DAY OUT! and Meeting

It was a small however very determined group of ladies who came out for this Quilters Day Out!
It became very apparent quickly that many people were either away out of town, or perhaps having more thoughts of "spring" than quilting!

However...not to be deterred, Mary R, Linda H, and Pamela managed to get the "Stepping Stone" quilt all tied, and Linda H has taken it home to finish putting on the binding!

Sue J dropped in for a quick visit and joined us for a scrump-dilla-ishus lunch that LindaH brought down for us .... Big Pot of Chili, vegetable and dip platter, fruit and dip platter, muffins, oatmeal cookies (thanks Ron!) .. We ate our little hearts out!

Then we held a quick meeting.  So here are the results.

The Workshop fees for those who "are not" members of our little group will be $60.00.

It is hoped that all the community quilts will be completed by the April 26th. QDO so we can make arrangements to take them around then.

With regards to the "Quilt War" it will be held on April 26th. as planned.  Everyone who has fabric to cut up and share please bring it then.  Also if you have any small pieces of flannel in light colors that you would like to donate for the "crib quilts backing and bindings "..for this event that would be great if you brought it along.

We will be making "Small Crib Quilts".

As I will be away on that Saturday, Mary R. has kindly offered to lead the "Quilt War" as she has participated in several before also.  Soooo. Bring your sewing machines along, and sharp needles, and be prepared for lots of laughs and giggles ..  you are all sure to have a "up-roaring good time!"

As for our Wind-Up "barbeque" on June 28th. Sue J. has offered to hold it at her home.

It will be pot luck as the past.

She suggests that we bring our "swim suits" and "towels" as we can all go for a "splash" in their indoor pool!

If you need directions to her home please give Sue a call.

Many ideas were passed around for some new, and exciting events for the next season. I have taken all the ideas down in my trusty little black book, and we can all consider them for the next year!

Well that pretty much sums up the day!

Until April 26th. "Pray for Pieces!"

Pamela

Hello Gals:

I am busy with a Catering job on Saturday so won't be sewing. May have a few minutes to pop in though to see how the war is going.

Have a great time, wish I could join you all.
