QDO Feb. 14th.

Dorothy measuring for the borders ...

Ena! One block at a time !

Mary busy planning the border strips!

         Dorothy R.  Plane Quilt
Wow! What a fun Quilt for a boy!

                                      Linda H. Flannel Quilt.
Great use of light and dark 1/2 square triangles create                                          such a stunning Quilt! Love the red and black borders!

A small but very industrious group of ladies were very busy on Saturday! Deb was busy putting the borders on the "Rainbow of Color" quilt that she is Quilt Mom for. And Mary R. was the "sit in Quilt Mom" for the House Block Quilt as Sue found herself down for the count with a nasty flue bug on Saturday!  "We all hope you are feeling better soon Sue!"

Mary R. rallied the girls together and soon had everyone busy with assigned tasks, and before you could say ... "Hey, Hey!.... Ms. Robinson" The Quilt top was well on its way to completion! (And we would like to say that it was finished on time according to the proposed completion time as suggested by Sue!  Wow!  What a group!! )

We were all delighted to have Deb share with us her finished Color Wash topper. Deb chose to pull out the reds in her Color wash by using a deep red and red print for the borders!  It is stunning!

Dorothy showed us her completed quilt of "Planes" for a lucky little fellow! We all feel that he is a lucky little lad, and will enjoy the many years of  use ... Dorothy Quilted it on her "Little Grace" Quilting frame .... a really great job!

Linda H. brought along her flannel quilt made from woodsy fabric! Using the 1/2 square triangle pattern she has a comfortable and eye catching quilt for a fellow also! Love the black and red border! Really sets it off doesn't it!

Donna will be sending up to me some sample "storm at sea" table toppers she has made showing us the effects achieved when using the traditional blue and white and when using any colors you wish!  She has made one that she calls her "Scrappy Storm at Sea".  So those of you who are concerned that it can only be created using blues and whites!........... Remember this is Your Quilt and you can use ANY Fabric Colors that suit your fancy!!! ANY COLOR GOES!  I have seen one done using Jewel toned Batiks starting in one corner using light rainbow colors and going to the bottom corner using dark rainbow colors ...it is STUNNING!

Donna will also be sending up a fabric selection ideas so that you can design your quilt and fabric so that it will achieve the effect you like, with the "wave motion" showing.

She hopes to send it up to me some time in the next 2 weeks so we will all have lots of time to gather up our fabrics!

So with all this being said .... here are some photo's from our QDO! enjoy and 'HAPPY QUILTING!
