Rough Acres Quilting Retreat!

The Rough Acres Quilting Retreat organized by a group of quilting ladies from Smithers was a resounding success!

It was  Very Well Organized  by the ladies from Smithers... and Well Attended by ladies from both Smithers and Houston! Everyone had a great time meeting new quilters, and making contact with friends from the past!

A total of 20 Ladies attended of whom 9 were members of our Cut Loose Quilters group!

Friday evening was spent setting up your spot, meeting everyone, enjoy appetizers, and starting in on your project! You were welcome to sew until you dropped, and most of the ladies did not drive home at night .. instead they stayed overnight in the  lovely rooms down stairs!

The meals were all "Assigned Pot Luck" and once again the girls showed that they can not only sew a mean seam but they are also Awesome Cooks!

By then end of the weekend,..  with happy faces on everyones , projects were completed and proudly presented to one and all!

Saturday Morning greeted us with rays of lovely sunshine!

                           

                    

Sunday morning brought ... "Snow!" We all certainly were happy we were merrily  sewing on your projects!

A first time Quilt Completed!  Wow! the colors are so refreshing! Well done!

A "new twist" on a star block! Such rich and warm colors ... ready to cuddle under it and gaze into the warm embers of the "fire place this winter!"

A Fun Child's quilt! Gotta love the colors!

Mary completed her "One Block Wonder" ... it is Stunning Mary!

Aaah! A quilt that takes one back in time! "Traditional" and inspiring in its completion!

Hey! Catch these bold black and white pillows! Wow! someone is going to have a nicely dressed sofa!

Dorothy completed a vibrant and exciting quilt that she designed from start to finish!! Someone is going to be happy!!

What a Cool Hand Bag! Girls as you can see more than just quilts and table runners were produce!

This Stunning Christmas Table Runner will adorn a table this Christmas Season!

Jocelyn completed her "Block of the Month" Quilt!!

So as you can see ... everyone had a great time!! Looking forward to the next one!!
